While in Washington D.C this summer I got to visit the Vietnam wall which is a memorial inscribed with the names of service men and women who died while fighting in the Vietnam war.
Each wall is 246 feet, 9 inches long - the total length of the Wall is 493 feet, 6 inches. In Eve Bunting's book we will read about a boy and his dad looking for a special name on the wall.
