This week we will be reading a book-"A Train To Somewhere" by Eve Bunting. It's a realistic fiction story about the 1850s to the 1920s when thousands of homeless children were sent from New York City by train to families in the Midwest in the hope they would be adopted.
I know all of you will enjoy the book as much as I did. Eve Bunting does a great job of helping us infer how difficult this was for children. I can't wait to share it with you!
What other books or movies have you read or seen about orphan children?
What other Eve Bunting books have you read?
